Topics Covered in this Class
Is Screening a Choice or a Public Health Imperative?
Primary Types of Breast Imaging - Benefits and Harms (if any) of ultrasound, MRI and mammography.
Thermography’s abilities to add important information with no negative impact
Differences between Screening Mammograms and Diagnostic Mammograms
How to Get a Breast Ultrasound w/o First Having a Screening Mammogram
How Thermal Markers Measured Over Time Can Indicate Speed, or Lack of, in Tumor Growth.
We'll cover all the primary ways to image breasts (mammography, sonography/ultrasound and MRI) and how these compare to each other. Adding thermography adjunctively can improve detection rates, so we'll cover how thermography detects heat abnormalities and the best order of testing for maximum benefit and minimum risk.
We'll also tell you how some thermograms, including ours, can assist you in getting a (non-invasive) ultrasound if you need to avoid mammography. This is especially important for very dense breasted ladies because according to the American College of ObGyn, they “experience reduced sensitivity of mammography to detect breast cancer” and, “dense breast tissue absorbs significantly more radiation compared to fatty breast tissue”. We’ll also tell you how thermography in combo with mammography can reduce mammography’s false positive rates by providing temperature information about the area in question.
You’ll gain an understanding of the pro’s and con’s of each test, and whether any, all or none of them are useful for you.
